Richard Travers

Richard Travers of Old Town Florida, passed away on October 25, 2017 following a five year battle with cancer. He was born September 21, 1931 to the late Henry and Mary Travers.

Richard was an Iron Worker for the Iron Workers Local Union No. 3 for 67 years, from where he retired in 1995. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 639 in Claysville, where he served once as Commander and District Officer, he was also a member of the Moose Lodge No.22 in Washington, PA

He is survived by his wife Shirley J. Travers, a son Andy Travers (Brenda) of Colorado, 2 step-sons Herbert and William Barrett of West VA, 4 step-daughters Debra (Tim) Sanders of Washington, PA, Mildred and (John) Hough of Port Charlotte, FL, Brenda (Mark) Dovidio of Oscala, FL and Robin Iams of Washington, PA, also survived by 15 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son Bruce, 3 sisters and a great granddaughter. Interment with full military honors to follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
