James A. Reitnauer, 77, of Claysville, PA passed away peacefully
in his home on September 9th, 2017. He was born May 27, 1940,
in Pottstown, PA, the youngest of seven children born to Paul R. Reitnauer
and Mildred Shafer Reitnauer Rimby.
Mr. Reitnauer was employed for thirty years as a meat cutter for the A&P Tea Company and the Pathmark Company. He was also self employed
as the owner of Reitnauer Fire Equipment in Pottstown until his retirement in 2001.
He took great pride in being a member of Stichter Masonic Lodge # 254
as well as Claysville Masonic Lodge # 447 where he served as Worshipful Master
in 2015 and most recently served as Chaplain.
He attended the Claysville United Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Karen Shaw Reitnauer, whom he married January 13, 1980; one son, James A. Reitnauer of Bally, PA; two daughters, Deborah Lopuski, of Fleetwood, PA, and Pamela (Jason) Karten of Los Angeles, California; one sister, Mildred “Pat” Miller of Boyertown, PA; two grandsons, Dustin and Cody.
Deceased in addition to his parents are three brothers, Paul, William, and Jeremiah
Reitnauer and two sisters, Sally Moyer and Dolores Moyer.
He loved the outdoors, whether mowing the lawn, planting a garden, or just sitting on the back porch watching for wildlife. Every year he especially looked forward to deer season when several good friends joined him to hunt on his farm.
Friends will be received Monday, September 11th from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm at Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 219 Main Street, Claysville PA 15323 (724) 663-7373 www.youngfhinc.com with a Masonic Service at 7 pm. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 12th at 11 am in the Claysville United Presbyterian Church, 134 Wayne Street, Claysville with Rev. Dr. Jerome Creach officiating. Everyone please meet at church. .Burial will be private.
