Hugh E. Link, Sr., 90 of Eldersville, died Wednesday, June 27, 2018.
He was born June 21, 1938 in Rae Station, a son of the late Robert W. and Sarah Carnahan Link, Sr.
Mr. Link attended Avella High School. He worked on the family farm, in the coal mine then retired from Weirton Steel Corporation for 35 years.
He helped to build the Raccoon State Park; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, camping, and going to church.
He was a member of the Voice of Pentecost Church in Weirton, WV.
Surviving are his daughter, Shirley (Ed) Smith of Eldersville, his son, Hugh E. (Jean) Link, Jr. of Follansbee, WV, daughter-in-law, Linda Link of Eldersville, brother, Elmer ( Rose ) Link of Eldersville, sister, Alice “Tootie” Walker of Langeloth, his grandchildren, James (Sally) Smith, Cindy (Chuck) Kennedy, Jonathon Link, Melissa Russell, Dan Link, Jr, and Shawn (Krissy) Link, his great-grandchildren, Marie Smith, Jamie Smith, Kayla Rotellini, Joshua Kennedy, Hailey and Jonathon Russell, Tanner, Logan, and Marissa Link, Brianna and Emma Link, his great-great-grandchildren, Aubriella and Zayden Rotellini, and Joshua Kennedy, Jr., and many nieces and nephews
On January 30, 1946, he married June Link, who died June 23, 1994,
Also deceased are his son, Dan Link, his grandson, Edward Smith, Jr and wife, Lorraine, his brothers, Robert Link, Jr., and William Link, and his sister, Helen “Jane” Orison.
Friends will be received form 2-4& 6-8 pm Sunday, July 1, 2018 in Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc.,Taucher Chapel 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown, 724-947-2049 where services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 2 with Rev. Toni Harrington officiating. Interment will follow in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Paris.
