Roger D. Illig, 73 of Atlasburg, died Thursday, November 8, 2018 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born November 14, 1944 in East Liverpool, OH, a son of the late Elmer J. and Helen Pritchard Illig.
Mr. Illig was a graduate from South Side Beaver, was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam. He retired from the IBEW Electrical Workers Local 1919.
Mr. Illig was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Burgettstown and the Knights of Columbus Council 3440 and Bishop Boyle Assembly 4th Degree and Honor Guard.
Mr. Illig was the patriarch and heart of his family, believing that the love of family is life's greatest blessings.
Surviving is his wife of 46 years, Joanne Murin Illig. Also surviving are his daughter, Annette (Chris) Green of Joffre, his son, Matthew Illig of Canonsburg, his grandchildren, Sara, Ryan, and Evan Green, and Levi Dvorsak, his sister, Beverly Srigley, and his brothers, Elmer "Jerry", Tom, Mike, and David Illig.
Deceased is his granddaughter, Emily Green, and two sisters and three brothers.
Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 Sunday, November 11, 2018 in the Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Monday, November 12 in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Burgettstown with the Rev. Harry R. Bielewicz as celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
