Anna Mae Sedlak Obituary

Anna Mae (Yanosky) Sedlak, 82, of Slovan, PA, passed away Monday, March 13, 2023, at Premier Washington Health Center following a brief illness.

She was born on October 2, 1940, in Westland, PA to Charles and Anna (Wallo) Yanosky, Sr.

She was a graduate of the former Hickory High School, Class of 1958, and held a Beautician's License.

On June 9, 1962, she married Andrew Sedlak of Slovan and had three children; Andrew Sr., MaryAnn, and Christopher.  She was a hard-working mother to all of her children and grandchildren; tirelessly caring for them all.

She was a dedicated member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, where she attended reliably only until recent health problems.  In addition, she was a long-time member of the Christian Mothers, served as a volunteer lunch mother for many years at the school, was a very proud member of the Slovan V.F.W. Auxiliary and could also be found working the polls at the Slovan V.F.W. polling location on election days for a number of years.

She was known for her relentless caring of her flowers planted around the house and working on crafts.  She was the recipient of the Lifetime Regimental Appreciation Coin of the Iron City Guards living history non-profit organization for her countless hours of volunteer work she selflessly donated.

She is preceded in death by her father Charles and mother Anna, husband Andrew, brother Michael and son-in-law Jesse H. Stutler, Jr.

Surviving are her brother Charles Jr., sons Andrew (Lori) Jr and Christopher, daughter MaryAnn Stutler, grandchildren Heather (James) McMillen, Brittany (Stephen) Strosko, Kristen (Dylan) Motta, great-granddaughter Talia Rose Strosko as well as many nieces and nephews.

At her request, there will be a private family-only viewing on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown, PA 15021.  (724) 947-2049, www.youngfhinc.com.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Friday, March 17, 2023. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.

Family and Friends are invited to a celebration of life luncheon at the Slovan V.F.W. following interment.
