Anson "Ike" W. Glavach, 81, of West Alexander, PA, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024, in his home.
He was born on November 20, 1942, in Nanty-Glo, PA a son of George Glavach and Pauline Krampy (Lantzy). He attended Nanty-Glo High School and graduated in 1956 and later served in the United States Army for six years and the Army Federal Reserves for four years.
Anson was blissfully married to Phyllis Madeline Glavach (Davis) for 59 years and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Anson spent his earlier years as a chef at Ernie's Esquire, owned and operated two bars known as Ike Strike & Spare and Strike Il with his late wife, Phyllis, before becoming an independent long-haul truck driver.
In addition to his love for his dog Daisy, he enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, watching movies, reading books, cooking, and most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Madeline Glavach (Davis), his sister, Sharon Anderson (Glavach), as well as both parents, George Glavach and Pauline Krampy (Lantzy).
Surviving are his beloved four children Mark Glavach (Sue), Julie Hess (Bryan), Lorie Beck (Bill), and Melisa A. Beck, six grandchildren Kevin Michael, Hailey Noel, Alexandra Elise, Meredith Celeste, Solomon Nathaniel, and Genevieve Sophia and his siblings Joesph Krampy (Debbie) and Theresa Glavach Elliott.
