Bonnie L. Heim

Bonnie L. Heim, 76, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away at home with her family surrounding her after her hard-fought battle with lung cancer on Thursday, October 19, 2023.

She was born on September 28, 1947, in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of the late Anna Mae and William Hicks. Bonnie completed her education at North Hills High School, Class of 1965.

On March 30, 1968, she married the love of her life, Rick Heim. They spent 55 devoted years together.

Bonnie was a full-time mother, always putting her children first. Aside from motherhood, she was a loved school bus driver and crossing guard for many children in the school district. 

She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Bonnie enjoyed Steeler Sundays, family breakfast every Sunday morning, sitting on the porch drinking a Coors Light waving to everyone who passed, and most of all time spent with her grandchildren and watching them play sports.

Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband Rick Heim, daughter Dana Marx, son Rick Heim (Lori), sister Irey Hicks, grandchildren Kyrstin, Ashley, and Jaclyn Marx, and Cassidy, Julianna, and Addy Heim, niece Amy Hicks Sens (Rick), and great niece and nephew Avery and Mason Sens.

There will be a memorial service held for Bonnie from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at the West View VFW 386 Perry Highway, West View, PA 15229. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family.
