Charles VanCamp Obituary

Charles Jeffrey VanCamp, 62, of Burgettstown (formerly of New Cumberland, WV), passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022, due to Progressive Nuclear Palsy.

Charles “Jeff” was born on July 3, 1960, to Shirley (Mercer) & Charles Edgar VanCamp in Weirton, WV. After graduating from Oak Glen High School in 1978 he went on to study welding at Airco Technical Institute.

Jeff was a certified welder/ironworker for Orders Construction in St Albans, WV where he built and repaired bridges throughout the State of West Virginia. He returned to Weirton and was employed as a Journeyman Millwright Maintenance Mechanic & Rigger/ Ironworker at Weirton Steel (ISG/Mittal). In 2006 he took a job as a Maintenance Millwright at Shenango DTE Energy Neville Island, PA where he met his spouse, Sloane (Secco) VanCamp. They were married on August 8, 2008, and have a son Chase VanCamp who was born on September 9, 2009.

Jeff was a wonderful Husband and father. He enjoyed hunting, cutting firewood, NASCAR, and working on projects around the house.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Kevin Lee VanCamp.
