Debra Sue Chechuck

Debra Sue Chechuck, 58, of Steubenville, OH, passed away on January 16, 2026, in Pittsburgh, PA, from complications of a sudden illness.

Debra was born on December 24, 1967, in Washington, PA, a daughter of the late Freda and James Ervin. She was a graduate of Burgettstown High School and devoted much of her life to her family as a loving homemaker.

On September 22, 2012, Debra married Michael J. Chechuck.

Debra was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, and sister. She was a strong-willed woman with a generous heart, always compassionate, creative, and outgoing. She had a gift for making others around her laugh, but also making them feel loved and welcomed. 

She is survived by her children: Nicole (Michael) Carmine; Brandon McClelland (Mackenzie); Telicia McClelland; Michael (Anjeanette) Chechuck; Michelle Powers; Angel Chechuck; and Justin (Johnna) Chechuck.

She is also survived by brothers James Ervin, Jr., and Jeff Ervin, and sisters Anjeanette Chechuck and Freda May Ervin-Naegele. 

Debra leaves behind 21 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of whom were a tremendous source of pride and joy in her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William Ervin, and her son, Jerry McClelland III.

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown, PA 15021 (724) 947-2049, www.youngfhinc.com. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 12:00 p.m., with interment to follow at Grandview Cemetery.
