Donna Pettit Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Donna Mae Pettit on September 2, 2021, of Claysville formerly of Taylorstown following a long-term illness.

She was born February 29, 1952, the daughter of Donald and Dorothy Mae Scott Welch.

Donna Mae was a long-time member of the Taylorstown American Legion Post 907 and loved playing pool, crocheting, cooking, fishing, hunting, and all sports especially the Penguins and Steelers.

Previously she had worked at CDS Trucking as a driver and was last employed at West Penn Wire.

She is survived by sons James D (Dawna) and Jason E (Deanne) Pettit, a brother James (Lisa) Welch, grandchildren Gabby (Alyssa), Destiny, Deric Pettit, Austin Beattie, and Josh Holliday.  Daughter-in-law Dustina Pettit and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Deceased in addition to her parents are a brother Ross S. Welch.

Donna Mae was a kind and loving soul.  She was so giving in all she had and was very quick-witted.  She touched your life and you never forgot her.  She will be deeply missed by all that loved her and never to be forgotten.  We could write a book on the memories of the joy she brought to everyone.  Fly high my dear you were loved and cherished while you were here with us.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the American Breast Cancer Society as she was a survivor.

A celebration of life will be held on September 19, 2021, at the Washington Legion Pavillion at 2 pm to celebrate the life of Donna Mae and her brother Scott who had died in June 2021.

Arrangments are entrusted to Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. 219 Main St. Claysville, Pa 15323. (724) 663-7373 www.youngfhinc.com
