Dora Jane (Mounts) Plants

Dora Jane Mounts Plants, 85, of Dunbar, PA, formerly of Washington County, passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones at home on February 2, 2024. She was born on January 11, 1939. A daughter of the late Martha and Charles Mounts. 

On March 3, 1962, she married Gaylord Frances Plants.

Dora and Gaylord had four children, Martha, Terry, Brenda, and Fran, all of Washington, four grandchildren Jennifer (Timmy), Jessica, Justin (Denielle), and Brianna (Kolby) and seven great-grandchildren Hailey, Hayden, Matthew, Brayden, Kailey, Brantley, and Kiara—all of whom survive. 

Dora was a faithful and devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her gospel music and would sing a hymn every chance she got. She loved being outside on her porch swing and loved being surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents, Dora is preceded in death by her husband Gaylord, a brother Don Mounts, and a sister Penny Manning.

Friends and family will be received on Thursday, February 8, 2024, from 10 am to 12 pm time of service at Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. 219 Main Street, Claysville, PA 15323. (724) 663-7373. Interment to follow at Fairmount Cemetery 120 Fairmount Church Road East Finley, PA 15377
