Dorothy E. Kerns

Dorothy E. Kerns, “Dottie” 73, of West Alexander, PA passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, with her family surrounding her.

She was born on August 31, 1950, in Wheeling, WV, the daughter of the late Herbert and Martha Doman. She was the youngest of four brothers and three sisters. She was also a graduate of Triadelphia High School Class of 1968.

Dottie retired from Chicken Charlies as a manager. During her many years of employment, she made many friends and touched many lives who came through those doors.

She loved her family and her farm, especially in the springtime to see her baby calves being born. Dorothy was an avid reader and never met a stranger; she could talk to anyone. She especially adored “her Bob”.

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband Robert W. Kerns whom she married on May 25, 1986, sons Ronald E. Horr (Hatsumi), George B. “Benji” Horr (Tammi), James L. Horr (Yitka), Patrick R. Kerns (Amanda) and Robert A. “Elick” Kerns (Jodi), 10 grandchildren Marina Oshiro, Kazuma Horr, Masato Horr, Victoria McDonald (Dalton), Matthew Horr, Alexis Kerns, Aleah Kerns, James Horr, Jr., Wiley Kerns, and Autumn Kerns, and one great-grandchild Braylon McDonald.

Dottie was a supporter of the St. Judes Children's Research Hospital. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital  P.O. Box 1999, Memphis, TN 38101 in Dorothy’s name.
