Earl Leroy Klages, 87, of Taylorstown, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2020, in the Washington Hospital surrounded by his family.
Earl was born March 21, 1932, in Sandhill, West Virginia, a son of Clarence and Alta Klages of West Alexander.
Earl was a graduate of West Alexander High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Earl married Ethel Marie Morris, July 23, 1960, surviving of Taylorstown.
Earl was a member of the Taylorstown Legion Post 907 for 50+ years, the Moose, and Polish Club for many years. He was Commander of the Taylorstown Legion Post 907 dating 1965-66, 1996-99, 2000-02, 2007-2008.
He enjoyed traveling, bluegrass music, polka, the news, reading, and his family.
Earl was employed by Suwak Trucking for 35 years, Chambers, Zappi Oil, and he owned his owned truck and subcontracted for Peasant trucking. Surviving are children, Deborah Scott, of
Wheeling West Virginia, William (Bill) Klages, of West Alexander, Charlotte Morgan, of Taylorstown, Karen wife of Steven Knotts of Sterling, Virginia, and Bruce Klages, companion Lisa Culbertson, of Washington. Deceased children are Earl Leroy Klages, Jr. Also, surviving are two sisters, Nancy Wilhem, of West Alexander, along with Clara wife of David Limes of Dandrige, TN. Surviving is 15 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased in addition, are brothers Lloyd Klages, Wayne Klages, Jack Klages, Kenneth Klages, and sister Emma Jean Klages. Also deceased are son-in-laws Chuck Scott and Randy L. Morgan.
He will be sadly missed by all whose hearts he touched.
