Edward Kelley Obituary

Edward Kelley, 82, of Claysville, PA, passed away on January 12, 2026, in Washington, PA.

He was born on July 10, 1943, in Wolfdale, PA, the son of James Everett and Addie Evalyn White Kelley.

Ed grew up in Washington County and graduated from McGuffey High School in 1961. He later attended Dean Tech and obtained an associate degree as an Electrician. On December 19, 1964, he married the love of his life, Geraldine Sibert Kelley, who survives. They settled down on a small farm in East Finley Township and raised a son, Gary Edward Kelley (Debra), and a daughter, Sandi Lynn Kelley.

Ed enlisted in the US Army and served from 1964 to 1966 in the 97th Engineering Company. Commendations during his military service included Marksman for both the M-1 and M-14 rifles. He was a member of the Claysville American Legion.

Ed retired from Jessop Steel Company in Washington, PA, where he worked for over 30 years.

In addition to his wife, son, and daughter, Ed is survived by two grandsons, Christopher Edward Kelley (Abigail) of Claysville and Matthew Paul Kelley (Amy Russell) of Vancouver, WA, and three great-granddaughters, Amelia, Emerson, and Addison. Also surviving are 4 brothers and 5 sisters.

Ed enjoyed spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed hunting with his son and grandsons, going to NASCAR races, and going to the cabin in the mountains with his family. You could always find him in a hayfield every summer or cutting firewood in the winter, always whistling as he worked.

He was kind, caring, generous, and always the first to help others. He will always be the greatest husband, father, grandfather, and we were blessed to have had him in our lives. We will cherish him forever.
