Evyn Marie Zappi
April 11, 1995 – April 29, 2025
Evyn Marie Zappi, 30, of Avella, passed away unexpectedly with her family surrounding her on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
Born on April 11, 1995, in Washington, PA, she was the cherished daughter of Ed Zappi and Stacy L. Zappi. Evyn graduated from Bishop Canevin High School in 2014 and furthered her education through the Saint Anthony Program at Duquesne University in 2016.
Evyn lived a life full of joy, kindness, and creativity. She was known for remembering every birthday, lovingly sending cards and thoughtful gifts. She especially enjoyed doing crafts with her dear friend Amy Shallcross. A fierce competitor when it came to games, Evyn was known as the “Uno Queen”.
Her compassionate heart led her to volunteer for Meals on Wheels and at the McGuffey Senior Center, where she formed lasting bonds with the seniors she served and created crafts with them that brought joy to many. She was an active member of Best Buddies and also lent her time and energy to the Sacred Heart Fish Fry.
Evyn will be remembered for her spunky and feisty spirit, her loving and generous heart, and her deep care for others. She was the life of the party, a tough cookie with a soft soul, and a bright light to everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her loving parents, Stacy and Ed Zappi; siblings Camden (Carly) Zappi, Madison (Mark) Cal; her beloved niece, Lainey, and nephew, Brooks; gram Alice Zappi; aunts and uncles, Sherri (Chuck) Kleinhans, Deanna Miller, Jamie (Earl) Galloway, and Rhonda (Mark) Grose; and many cousins, and friends.
Evyn was preceded in death by Pete Zappi Sr. (Pap), Harold Cummins (Pap), Judy Dillie (Gram), Ron Dillie (Pap), Chris Miller (Uncle), and many other loved relatives.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, May 2, 2025, from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM at Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 219 Main Street, Claysville, PA 15323. 724-663-7373 www.youngfhinc.com. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Sacred Heart Church of St. James Parish, 1280 U.S. Hwy 40, Claysville, PA 15323. Everyone, please meet at church. Interment to follow at Claysville Cemetery.
