George Golubofsky, 93, of Slovan, PA, passed away peacefully in Washington Hospital on May 20, 2025.
He was born on January 13, 1932, in Langeloth, PA, a son of the late Sergei and Anna Hayden Golubofsky. George was a proud graduate of Union High School in Burgettstown.
He shared his life with his loving companion of over 60 years, Beverly Gordon.
George dedicated 35 years of service to LTV Steel (J & L Steel), Aliquippa Works, before his retirement.
A hardworking and resourceful man, he was known for his “do-it-yourself” spirit— anything from digging by hand, scraping paint, replacing windows, and more. Though not a smoker or drinker, he found joy in the simple things. He especially enjoyed working in his backyard, filling it with dahlias, sunflowers, and zinnias and watching the horse races with Beverly.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Mary DeSanto McGraw and Helen Gagich; niece Renee Bongiorni; and nephews Peter DeSanto and Jimmy Lee.
Surviving are his sister, Sonia Lee; nephew, Edward Bongiorni (“Sonny”); many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews.
