Glen R. Garrett

Glen R. Garrett, 77, of Claysville, PA, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, in Transitions Healthcare with his loving family surrounding him. 

He was born on March 3, 1947, in Washington, PA, the son of the late Robert and Mae Garrett. Glen attended McGuffey High School. 

On June 28, 1969, he married his true love and best friend Shirley Garrett. 

Glen served a tour in Vietnam and after being honorably discharged he worked as a laborer for the utility companies and the Borough of Claysville.

Glen was a member of the Claysville American Legion Post 639. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, making utility trailers, and watching wrestling.

He was always a loving, kind, and caring father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Glen is preceded in death by his siblings Bill, Bud, Barry, and Linda, daughter-in-law Robin Garrett, and a son-in-law John Klepsic.

He is survived by his wife Shirley Garrett, children Glen (Jessica), Rick, and Christy, grandchildren Tina, Scott, Lisa, Casey, Travis, Jason (Kayla), Levi (Kasey), Shane (Victoria), Azia, Hayley, Mya, and Kiera, nine great-grandchildren, and his loving granddog Mercedes.

Friends and family will be received on Sunday, August 18, 2024, from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm at Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 219 Main Street, Claysville, PA 15323 724-663-7373 www.youngfhinc.com.
