Harry J. Shipley

Harry J. Shipley, 81, of Burgettstown, PA, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family after his battle with COPD. 

He was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on November 17, 1942, the son of the late Agnes and Frank Shipley.

Harry served in the Army as a Military Policeman in Vietnam. After being honorably discharged from the service he became a driver for Trailways, Grey Hound, and Port Authority where he retired from. 

Harry enjoyed quad-riding with his children and grandchildren, loved every minute spent with his dogs Gracie, Tucker, Deacon, Cooper, Nala, Bane, Skye, and Willow, watching his grandchildren play sports, playing ping pong, cutting the grass, and being in the sun.

Most of all, he loved time spent with his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his granddaughter Jessica.

He is survived by his children, Doris Deglmann, Natalie Russell (Kevin), and Chad Shipley (Shawna), grandchildren Joe Deglmann (Becky), Jacob Shipley (Erica), Korrin Russell, Caleb Russell, Ella Shipley, and Crew Shipley, great-grandchildren Josey Deglmann, Charley Deglmann, and Rory Deglmann, siblings Ron Shipley, Terry Shipley (Jane), Wayne Shipley (Sharon), Elaine Sikorski (Stush), Cheryl Shipley, and his best friend Jason Pompa (Christine) 

Friends and family will be received on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM at Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown, PA, 15021. 724-947-2049 www.youngfhinc.com. A remembrance of him and celebration of his life will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the funeral home.  Interment to follow at Mount Prospect Cemetery 199 Main St, Hickory, PA 15340.
