Irene "Renie" (Richardson) Delprato

Irene "Renie" Delprato (Richardson) 95 of Burgettstown passed away peacefully on October 11, 2020, at Wyngate Senior Living Community in Weirton, West Virginia.  Renie was born on March 18, 1925, in Brownsville, PA.  Renie loved traveling the country, crossword puzzles, butter, and visiting with family, especially if tea and ice cream were involved.  She had a wonderful sense of humor and was able to make you chuckle in any situation.  Her lady lock cookies were so sought after that they were often shipped throughout the country if any were left after her sampling.  Renie was a housewife turned bartender that kept the customers in line at Poor Peck's Pub in Cherry Valley until the spry young age of 91.  Not a curse word would be heard in the establishment if Renie was behind the bar. 

Renie was preceded in death by her parents, the late Thomas and Mary Alice (Tague) Richardson, her six siblings Anna (Boyle), Mary Helen (Dempe), Delores (Scratchard), Rita (Schrock), Margaret, and Thomas, as well as, her husband Donald Delprato and son Donald.

She is survived by her daughter Mary Alice (Eric) Weinbrenner, two grandchildren Derek (Christina) Weinbrenner and Andrea (Brian) Mancos, son-in-law Shawn Lane and six great-grandchildren Collin, Brianna, Kaylee, and Ethan Weinbrenner, Elliott and Katie Mancos, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Washington County Humane Society to honor her love of all animals, or to the Vitalant Blood Bank.
