James William “Jim” Forbister, 73, of Claysville, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026.
Born on June 25, 1952, in Washington, Pennsylvania, Jim was the son of Lawrence William Forbister and Mildred Catherine (Knestrick) Forbister. He was known for his hardworking nature, dedication, and strong work ethic. Jim was proud to serve in the United States Air Force. He devoted 36 years of civil service to the United States Air Force as a Communications Cable Splicer, earning the respect of colleagues through his commitment, skill, and reliability.
Jim was a devoted parent, grandparent, sibling, and friend. He had a deep love for the outdoors and found great joy in nature. Whether cutting down trees, hunting, or trapping with his beloved coon hounds, Jim was happiest spending time outdoors and sharing those experiences with family and friends.
He is loved and will be missed dearly by his children: daughters, Jennifer (Jeff) Ling of Anchorage, Alaska; Jodi (Tom) Daniels of Macomb, Michigan; Katey Bradley of Davison, Michigan; son, Jonathan (Danielle) Forbister of New Haven, Michigan. He is also survived by his sister, Diane Frye of Boynton Beach, Florida. A lifetime friend and companion, Marcella Meyers Anderson of Claysville, Pennsylvania. He also leaves behind cherished grandchildren and many friends who will remember him fondly.
Jim was preceded in death by his loving parents and Freeda Louise Forbister, the beloved mother of his children.
A family graveside service will take place later this summer at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
