James “Jim” Kenneth Ward, 80, of Claysville, PA, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family surrounding him on Saturday, December 21, 2024.
He was born on December 5, 1944, in Washington, PA, the son of the late Ralph and Irene Maloy Ward.
In 1962 he graduated from McGuffey High School and continued his education in Aspinwall at the Pennsylvania Water Works School and the Washington Institute of Technology for Architectural Drafting.
On July 13, 1965, he married his loving wife of over 59 years, Norma Phillips Ward.
Jim worked as a General Foreman for Washington Mold for many years before he retired from Donegal Township.
He was an avid hunter, always going hunting with his same group of friends. He also enjoyed planting a vegetable and fruit garden, reading, and playing video games on his Kindle.
He cherished time spent with his family. He was a loving and caring husband, father, pappy, and friend.
Jim was a Claysville United Methodist Church member and a Volunteer for the Claysville Volunteer Fire Department.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Jim is survived by his wife Norma Ward, children Sherry Dolegowski (Michael), and Jay Ward (Susan), brother Samuel Ward, grandchildren Brent, Taylor (Michael), and Emma, great-grandchildren Charlie, Hunter, Owen, Ashton, and Vivian, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, December 26, 2024, from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm at Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 219 Main Street, Claysville, PA 15323. 724-663-7373 www.youngfhinc.com.
