Joan E. (Harless) Hunt

Joan Elizabeth (Harless) Hunt, 85, of Washington, formally of West Alexander, died on December 13, 2021 at Premier Health Center. Born September 20, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Willard Othel Harless and Zona Harris. 
Joan was then adopted by the White family and raised on a farm in Dallas, WV. There she graduated from Sand Hill School and later worked in the school's cafeteria. 
She married the late Glenn Goodwin Hunt on June 20, 1969. 
Surviving are a brother, Ron; two children, Julie Baker and Eric Hunt;  three grandchildren, Brian Steadman, Shawn McMillen, and Nancy (Ray)Lowden. Three great grandchildren, Sophia, Alexzandra and Maverick Lowden. Deceased is her husband, Glenn G. Hunt; daughter, Kristi Lynn Hunt Laudermilt; and several brothers and sisters.
Joan enjoyed watching birds visit the many feeders she kept around the home. She crocheted a multitude of items for decades. When gardening, she harvested the food to make things like pickles, fried zucchini chips or crab apple jelly. She loved to bake too. Her banana bread, apple pies and meatloaf were always delicious. 
We would like to thank her 3 east family at Premier Washington Health Center that has taken great care of her for the past five years. There is so many of you to name, but know that she loved each and everyone of you as if you were her own. Also the staff of the multiple agencies that have been there to help, especially CareConnections. 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a local humane society or animal rescue.
