John Harvey, 90, originally of Atlasburg, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at his home in Langeloth surrounded by family.
John was born on June 16, 1932, a son of George Harvey Sr. and Mary Churpak Harvey. A graduate of Union High School in Burgettstown, John was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean War. He retired from J & L Steel in Aliquippa in 1982 and enjoyed his retirement spending time with his grandchildren and family, hunting, fishing, taking his granddogs for walks, and doing word searches.
John was a member of the Raccoon Valley Sportsmens’ Club, St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Avella, and Burgettstown Knights of Columbus Council 3440.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his sons John Michael, George Edward, and Robert James, sister Mary Harvey Rolya and her husband John, brother Michael Harvey, sister-in-law Dee Harvey, daughter-in-law Tracy Harvey, and granddaughters Jamie and Amanda Harvey.
John Harvey is survived by a daughter Carol Osborn and husband Ron of Langeloth, brother George Harvey of Langeloth, sister-in-law Pat Harvey of Langeloth, Joe Harvey and his wife Flo of Atlasburg, Sister Susan Harvey of Mount Saint Macrina of Uniontown, and grandchildren Taylor and Hanna Osborn, Joe, Ron, Jessica, Teddy, and Rachel Harvey.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 1 pm to 5 pm at Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown, PA 15021. (724) 947-2049.
