Obituary
John Ratkovitch, 93, of Paris PA peacefully passed away on July 23, 2022. He was born in Bertha Mine PA son of the late Samuel and Anna Miskovich Ratkovitch.
He graduated from Union High School and continued his education at Steubenville Business College. He then served as a Sergeant in the United States Army.
John was a sales manager at Montgomery-Ward from 1948-1951 and later became a payroll manager for Weirton Steel Corp for 35 years where he retired.
John was an active member at the Jefferson Township Historical Society. He loved gardening, traveling, golfing, fishing, reading, his dogs, and making stained glass. He was the kindest man you would ever meet, and he will be missed dearly by all.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters Sophie Ryan, Agnes Ratkovitch, and Mary Rotella, and brothers George Ratkovitch and Frank Ratkovitch.
He is survived by one brother Paul (Joyce) Ratkovich, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, from 3 pm to 7 pm at Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown, PA 15021 (724) 947-2049 www.youngfhinc.com. A blessing service will be held at 10 am on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Chesnut Ridge Cemetery.
