Joy Bernice Mahan, 90, of West Finley, PA, went to be with the Lord on July 10, 2022. She was born on November 26, 1931, in East Finley Township, PA, to the late Joseph B. and Jeanetta Gail Sprowls Clutter. She was the longest-serving member of the Windy Gap Presbyterian Church and was a 1949 graduate of Claysville High School. On June 24, 1953, she married Roy Eugene Mahan and enjoyed 53 years of marriage with him until his passing in 2006. She was a wonderful baker, a crowd favorite being her pecan pie, enjoyed gardening, and loved visits and phone calls from her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Although Mrs. Mahan was a lifelong resident of Washington County, she could always be seen wearing a T-shirt from her family’s travels and proudly displayed keepsakes from their adventures across the globe. She is survived by her children Sue Truelove and her husband Mark of Scott Depot, WV, Bernice Clark and her husband Tom of Wheeling, WV, Jay Mahan and his wife Lois of West Finley, PA, and Daniel Mahan of Washington, PA. She is also survived by her grandchildren Shelby, Megan, Lance, Jessi, Dani, Avery, and Jade, and great-granddaughter Hazel. Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband Roy, are her daughter Jill Rebecca Mahan, her siblings, Benjamin Clutter, Floyd Clutter, and Karaleene Danley, and her step-granddaughter Grace Sauerzopf.
