Laura Marie Main

Laura M. Main, 85, of Claysville, PA, passed away on July 15, 2024, in her home with her loving family surrounding her.

She was born on November 13, 1938, in Washington, PA, a daughter of the late Howard and Alice Breese. Laura attended Claysville High School.

On September 7, 1955, she married the late Gerald S. Main (Jerry). They spent 68 loving years together before his passing, earlier this year.

Laura drove a school bus for McGuffey School District for many years and later became a group home supervisor for ARC Human Services where she retired. She also worked at her family-owned and operated nursing home Hillsview Personal Care Home. 

She was a member of Rolling Hills Chapel and the Claysville Mothers Club. 

Laura enjoyed singing alongside her husband and in her family’s church.  

She had a special place in her heart for her dogs. 

She was a loving, compassionate, and giving wife, mother, and grandmother.  Her greatest joy in life was being a grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Gerald S. Main (Jerry), a son Gerald Stanley Main, Jr. (Pudge), a son-in-law Michael Huffman, a daughter-in-law Cindy Main, a granddaughter Holly L. Reed, sisters Esther Thomas, Estella Martin, and Patricia Westwood, and brothers Bob Breese, and Duane Breese. 

She is survived by children, Drena (David) Nicolella, Kimberly Huffman, Kash (Etta) Main, and Stacy (David) North; grandchildren David, Lauren, Melanie, Luke, Jeanna, Kirk, Jordan, Kyler, Marcus, Kash, David Avery, Alissa, and Dylan; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters Dorothy “Dot” (Gary Moorehead) Clark and Shirley (Frank) Lindley; and several nieces and nephews  

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm and 8 pm at Rolling Hills Chapel 214 Timber Lake Road, Claysville, PA 15323. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at the church. Burial to follow at Claysville Cemetery.
