Louis Lepro Obituary

Louis Henry Lepro, 77, of Avella lost his hard fought battle with cancer on Wednesday, July 11, 2018  in Premier Washington Health Center.

He was born, at home, in Midway, PA on September 27, 1940, a son of the late Louis N. and Viola Finney Lepro.

Mr. Lepro was a member of the first graduating class of Fort Cherry High School in 1960.  He was employed as a driver for the Port Authority of Allegheny County for 8 years.  He owned and built the Maple Hill Mobile Home Park in Midway, then went into the construction field until retirement in 2002.  During retirement, he enjoyed many years volunteering at the Burgettstown Food Pantry, and going fishing. Most especially, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, to whom he taught many skills.

He was a member of the Eldersville United Methodist Church, the Avella Sportsmen Club, and the former SNPJ Lodge 292.

On March 17, 1962, in Center Presbyterian Church, McMurray, he married Carolyn (Addis) Lepro, who survives.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Sara Renee (Robert) Harvey of Hickory, a son, James Louis (Bonnie) Lepro of Midway, four grandchildren, Shane Allen Harvey of Midway, Joshua Robert Harvey of Hickory, Corporal Daniel James Lepro of Okinawa, Japan, and Katrina Elena Lepro of Midway, and many nieces and nephews.

He leaves behind his beloved dog, Daisy May who faithfully visited him on Saturdays.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William and three sisters, Beryle DeSantis, Erla Young, and Irene Berthold.
