Nelson Wade

Nelson Wade, 68, of Washington passed away on June 22, 2018 in his home after a lengthy illness surrounded by family.

Nelson was born to Virginia and Austin Wade on September 23, 1949 in New Martinsville, WV. He attended high school in St Mary’s, WV and was a former US Marine. On June 23, 1973, he married Josephine Scandale. He was also a barber for many years in Wellsburg, WV after his marriage and attending barber school. His interests included “attempting” to fix various items in his daughters’ homes, baseball, fishing, the casino, and spending time with his grandchildren daily.

He is survived by his wife Josephine of Washington, 2 daughters; Johnna Yezeski and Casey Caldwell both of Washington, and 2 grandchildren Jordan and Anthony Caldwell of Washington.

Preceding him in death are his father Austin, mother Virginia, sister Shirley, and nephew Shawn.

The family will have a memorial service after inurnment on July 28 at 11am at Fairhill Manor Christian Church located at 351 Montgomery Ave in Washington. Condolences can be sent to the family in lieu of flowers. The family would also like to personally thank Amedysis hospice for its impeccable care and assistance to Nelson and his loved ones during this difficult time.
