Oliver T. Hammond, Jr.

Oliver (Olivia) T. Hammond, Jr., 64, of Cross Creek, PA, passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack on Saturday, June 28, 2026, at St. Clair Hospital.

Born on April 11, 1962, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Oliver T. Hammond and Mary Virginia Zeto Hammond.

On February 14, 1981, he married the love of his life, Deborah S. Qualls, who survives.

Oliver was a truck driver and heavy equipment operator.  He was a hard worker with a love for the outdoors. His greatest joys were spending time with his granddaughters as well as camping, fishing, boating, hunting, riding side-by-sides, and chopping wood. He was a proud member of the Elks Lodge, the Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.), and the Teamsters Union, and worked as an Avon representative. Oliver also had a deep appreciation for astrology and everything metaphysical.

Above all, Oliver was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was known for his fun-loving spirit, ornery sense of humor, and stubborn nature. He was always proud of his good summer tan and enjoyed a nice cold drink.

He is survived by his wife Debbie Hammond of Cross Creek; children Dana Hammond of Washington and Oliver T. Hammond, III (Michelle) of Avella; a daughter-in-law, Megan Hammond of Cross Creek; granddaughters, Riley, Harper, Ava, and Eleanor Hammond, mother-in-law Mary Qualls of Magnolia, TX; sister-in-law, Sheryl Qualls of Magnolia, TX; beloved aunt Kathleen Hammond of Punta Gorda, FL; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Oliver T. Hammond, his son, Thomas J. Hammond, and his uncle Norman Hammond.

In accordance with Oliver's wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral services. As he always said, "If you couldn't visit me while I was living, there's no need now.”
