Pamela Mader Conrad, 71, of Cross Creek, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 13, 2026, after a short illness.
She was born on March 2, 1955, in Washington, PA, a daughter of the late Charles “Chub” Mader and Regina “Jenny” Davis Mader of Langeloth, PA. Pam was a 1973 graduate of Burgettstown High School.
Pam dedicated much of her life to horses and the racing industry. She worked for 30 years as a groom at The Meadows Racetrack. Before her years with Standardbred horses, she worked along the East Coast in Thoroughbred racing, where she served not only as a groom, but also as a pony girl, helping manage the pony barn.
Pam was an incredibly talented artist. From her early high school pencil sketches of her algebra teacher and Glen Campbell to her many handmade works later in life, she was always creating. She enjoyed sewing, painting, and crafting, and was a frequent vendor at craft shows. She also loved bonfires, volunteering with Handicapped Horseback Riding, trail riding, music, animals, and, most of all, the people she held close in her heart, her friends and her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her granddaughter, RaeLei Conrad, who was born still, as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Charles Conrad (Danielle) of Washington, PA; granddaughter, Adilynn Faye Conrad; brother, Shawn David Mader of Washington, PA; sister, Shelley Johnson (Jim) of Pittsburgh, PA; nephews, Jimmy and Charlie; and great-niece, Melody.
Interment will be private. A family memorial will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted to Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown, PA 15021. (724) 947-2049 www.youngfhinc.com
