Patricia Schilinski, 82, of Slovan, PA, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, September 12, 2024.
Patty was born on March 17, 1942, the daughter of the late Pete Sciamanna and Kathryn Filipponi Sciamanna. She was born and raised in Slovan and lived there her entire life. She was a graduate of Union High School, where she enjoyed being a cheerleader.
She was a devoted Christian and very active in church. In earlier years, she gave her time at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Burgettstown and later at Central Assembly of God Church in Houston, PA, where she loved teaching Sunday School to young students.
She also worked as a teacher’s aide for a few years at the Burgettstown Area School District and later chose to be a full-time stay-at-home mom and homemaker, which she loved doing and was excellent at.
On January 25, 1960, she married Thomas A. Schilinski, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons Thomas (Joni) Schilinski of Hickory, Jeffrey Schilinski of Midland, and Michael (Carol) Schilinski of Washington, grandchildren Thomas J. Schilinski, Jory (Johnny) Dunbar, Kiersten (Garrett) Ragsdale, Justen (Tori) Schilinski, Steven (Kanu) Schilinski, Michael (Courtney) Schilinski, Jeena Jodikinos (Austin Selinsky), Ryan (Halie) Schilinski, and Jessi (Phil) Sundo, great-grandchildren, Dodge, Jordan, Camden, Neveah, Mattea, Eden, Stella, Dax, Masen, and Nellie, and two sisters Tina Vuksanovich of North Carolina and Cynthia Darras of Weirton, West Virginia.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 10 AM to 12 PM. A funeral service will held at 12 PM officiated by Pastor Joe DiDonato at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown, PA 15021. 724-947-2049 www.youngfhinc.com Interment to follow at The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies 1158 Morgan Rd, Bridgeville, PA 15017. There will be a luncheon held at the Pepsi-Cola Roadhouse following the interment at 3 PM.
