Patricia Jane Sproul

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia “Patty” Jane Sproul, 84, of Claysville, PA,  on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. She passed away peacefully at home with her loving family surrounding her. 

Patty was born on July 23, 1940, in McKeesport, PA, the daughter of the late, George and Gertrude Baird. 

She retired from McKeesport Hospital after 35 years, where she spent her time helping others within the nursing department. 

Beyond her career, she was also active in the American Legion, the local church, and the Claysville Senior Center. Patty enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and her dog Spike. She loved going to bingo, being active in her community, shopping, and planning surprise family picnics at her daughter's house. 

Patty was a loving mother, wife, and friend. 

She is survived by her dog Spike, brother Robert Baird (Kathy), children Diana Barbisch (Rudy), Edmund Ross (Marianne), Tracy Gill (Dave), Kim Connell, Bobby Sproul, and Donnie Sproul, grandchildren Kimberly Williamson (Lenny), Michael Hazen (Tabitha), Shawn Uzlik (Ashley), Christie Barbisch, Edmund Ross (Ashley), Kristy McGahey (Sean), Christy Majano, Bobby Sproul, her many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; in addition to Scott, Carla, Sherree, Terri, and many dear friends and family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by sisters Noreen Holden and Marian Mimnaugh, a brother Eddie Baird, a son Michael Ross, a grandson William Hazen, and her husband Thomas (Red) Sproul. 

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for the family. 

Patty’s warmth, kindness, and wisdom touched the lives of many. She will be missed but forever remembered.
