Robert Shekerko

Robert Shekerko, 85, of Burgettstown, PA, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on Friday, April 10, 2026.

He was born on April 2, 1941, the son of the late John and Christine Shekerko. 

On August 12, 1967, he married Caren Gilson Shekerko. They spent 55 loving years together before her passing in December of 2022. 

Robert worked for Weirton Steel for over 30 years before retiring. He enjoyed watching cowboy shows and crossword puzzles. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be remembered for his strength and love for his family. 

In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his siblings Anna Mae, Margaret, Albert, and Thomas.

He is survived by his loving children, Robert J. Shekerko (Marci) and Shannon Shekerko; a grandson, Timothy Shekerko; siblings, John Shekerko (Linda) of Las Vegas, NV, Nancy Nemeth (John) of Langeloth, PA,  Sandra Shekerko of Burgettstown, PA,  and Diane Kotouch of Bulger, PA, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Robert will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Friends and family will be received on Monday, April 13, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., time of service at Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown, PA 15021. (724) 947-2049 www.youngfhinc.com. The interment will take place at Grandview Cemetery.
