It is with heavy hearts that we announce Rosemary J. Shaw, 94, of Weirton, WV, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 24, 2025. She was born May 23, 1931, in Pittsburgh, PA.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John J. Shaw Sr.; parents, Edward Bullister Sr. and Mary Flaherty Bullister; brothers, John Bullister, Edward R. Bullister, and Francis Bullister; son, John J. Shaw Jr.; and daughter, Judith Shaw Novelly (Philip). She is survived by her brother, Joseph Bullister (Eileen); sister, Kathleen Klinzing; children, Rosemary Mulcahey (Paul), Cindy Shaw, Laura Seech (Tim), and Ed Shaw (Amy Schuler); and grandchildren, Rosemary Anne Mulcahey (John Beaumont), Grace Novelly, John Shaw III, Kathleen Shaw, Allison Shaw, Timothy Seech, and Maxwell Shaw.
Rosemary loved gardening and took pride in the large vegetable garden she and her husband created. She enjoyed crafts and taught her grandchildren how to turn macaroni noodles, pebbles, leaves, and paste into wonderful artwork. She was smart and resourceful; she provided daycare services for her grandchildren and made sure their days were filled with lots of activity. She loved a good joke and was not afraid to try new things. She was patient, loving, selfless, and sweet. Rosemary was generous with her time and affection. For Rosemary, family was everything, and she was happiest when surrounded by them. During family gatherings, small or large, she could be seen looking around, smiling, and simply enjoying having her family around her. Hers was a life well-lived—she will be deeply missed.
The family would like to thank her dedicated caregivers, Debbie Moore, Chris Fanase, Gail Persina, and the staff of Valley Hospice for their care and devotion.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, August 27, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown, PA 15021.
