Roy Lounder

Roy Lounder, 81, of Burgettstown, PA, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, following a brief illness.

He was born on January 28, 1945, in Washington Hospital, the son of the late Rudy and Ann Pauchnik Lounder. Roy was a proud graduate of Union High School, Class of 1963.

Roy served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967. On April 20, 1968, he married Linda J. Pagasky, who preceded him in death. 

Roy worked as a foreman at Washington Steel for 30 years before retiring in 1999.

Roy was a member of the Slovenian Club and enjoyed bowling, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, and gathering with family and friends.

He is survived by his loving children, Roy (Stacey) Lounder, Lisa (Dennis) Russell, and Lori (Bill) Brown; grandchildren, Ryan and Jake Lounder, Tyler (Sydney) and Cal Lira, Rex Russell, Morgan, Billy, Macy, and Rudy Brown; great grandson Levi; brothers, Ron (Mary Louise) Lounder, Ray (Linda) Lounder, Regis (Patty) Lounder, and Robert (Valarie) Lounder; sister-in-laws Judy and Bobbi Lounder; along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Roy is preceded in death by his brothers, Rudy and Rich Lounder.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown, PA 15021. (724) 947-2049 www.youngfhinc.com.  A blessing service will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 10:00 AM with Fr. Harry Bielewicz officiating at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Grandview Cemetery.
