Ruby J. Miller, 88, of Claysville, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026, at home. She was born on October 18, 1937, the daughter of the late Harley and Ngola Jones. At a young age, Ruby was diagnosed with polio, and even though her left leg and foot were smaller than the other, it never stopped her from living her life.
Ruby graduated from Claysville High School in 1956. She worked as a secretary for John J. Hughes, Attorney at Law, and later retired from Hills Department Store. On March 16, 1962, she married George W. Miller, who passed away in 2022. They were married for almost 60 years.
Ruby was a longtime member of Windy Gap Evangelical Presbyterian Church, where she played the organ/piano for more than 50 years. She enjoyed her game shows, especially Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.
Ruby is survived by her two daughters, Diane (Clifford) Painter of Grafton, WV, and Sandy (Tim) Gelety of Belle Vernon; her granddaughters, Caitlin (Eric) Falvey of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Katrina Gelety of Pittsburgh; her two great-granddaughters, Ryann and Jaycie Falvey; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are her sisters, Thelma Stout and Mildred Bell, brother Clayton Jones, and her beloved kitty, Sidney Crosby.
Family and friends will be received from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Young Funeral Home, 219 Main Street, Claysville, PA 15323.
