Ruth A. Gavatorta

Ruth A. Gavatorta, 81, of Burgettstown PA, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022. She was born on August 2, 1940 daughter of the late Lester and Francis Neil. Ruth went to Union High School, graduating in 1959.

After graduating she started her life-long cooking career at The Shantee, Whites, and Hickory Hollow all in Hickory. On June 6, 1959, she married the late Joseph ‘Toby’ Gavatorta. 

Ruth was the ‘Bingo-Queen’, she loved cats, dogs, and shopping at the Weirton Goodwill, she always loved a good bargain. 

She was a fun, loving, kind-hearted, and hard-working lady. She was a wonderful mother-in-law and friend. Above all Ruth enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, they were the light of her life.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by brothers Robert and Charles Neil. 

She is survived by her sons Michael Gavatorta and Thomas Gavatorta (Linda) of Burgettstown, grandchildren Christopher Gavatorta of Burgettstown and Arianna Gavatorta (Josh Roy) of Bulger, and many nieces and nephews. 

Graveside service will be held on Monday, May 9, 2022, at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery at 11 am officiated by Pastor Benjamin Robinson
