Sandra Sue Chase Bentrem “Sandi”, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully at her home on October 2, 2023, at the age of 70. Sandi was born in Washington PA on August 17, 1953, to Betty and William “Duffy” Chase.

Sandi was preceded in death by her mother and father, her son James “Jay” Fidler, a special nephew Jacob “Jake” Powell, and several other dear family members.

Sandi is survived by her husband of 32 years, William “Bill” Bentrem, daughter Christina (Paul) Nida, stepchildren William “Billy”, Jennifer, and Melissa Bentrem. Two brothers William “Ray” Chase and Bruce (Sandy) Chase. Five sisters Linda (John) Garrett, Judy (Ron) Allum, Susan (Jerry) Johnson, Lisa (Leroy Brown) Chase, and Jennifer Welling. Seven grandchildren Tyler (Kerri) Fidler, Andrew (Michelle) Fidler, Audrey Blust, Austin (Alicia) Romine, Caleb (Katerina Williams) Shelek, Christopher Poggi Jr, and Kamryn Poggi. Sandi worked in a variety of places as a server and cook. She was a server at the TA Truckstop at Dallas Pike for many years. She also worked for her sister Judy’s family business, Allum’s Family Restaurant, as a server and a cook.

In her free time, she enjoyed sitting around a bonfire relaxing with a cold one. She was terrific at crocheting. She could make almost anything imaginable with some yarn and her hook, from Christmas stockings, baby clothes, and booties, to cozy blankets of all sizes. In her younger years, Sandi also enjoyed horseback riding and camping.

In honoring Sandi’s wishes, there will not be a viewing or a funeral service. The family is organizing a memorial service for all who would like to join and celebrate her life at the West Alexander United Methodist Church on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 2 PM.

Arrangements are entrusted to Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. 219 Main Street, Claysville, PA 15323. (724) 663-7373
