Shirley Myrtle Beatty

Shirley Myrtle Beatty, 86, of Claysville, PA, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025, at the Southmont Presbyterian SeniorCare with her loving family surrounding her.

She was born June 9, 1939, in West Alexander, PA, a daughter of the late Dolly Longstreth and Ben Kennedy. Shirley was a proud 1957 graduate of West Alexander High School. 

In January of 1959, she married the love of her life, Clarence Beatty, and together they built a life centered on family and enduring love.

Over the years, Shirley worked for Mac Plastics and Eat’n Park, but her greatest calling was as a homemaker. She was happiest when surrounded by her family, especially while cooking, canning, tending to her garden, or watching hummingbirds from her porch. Her warmth and love created a home where everyone felt welcome.

She is preceded in death by her beloved son, David Beatty, and daughter, Susan Beatty.

She is survived by her husband, Clarence Beatty; her children, Charles F. Beatty (Belynda), Linda Davis (Terrance), and Patricia Wilcox; grandchildren, Charles R. Beatty (Doris), Samantha Beatty, Alison Lucious (Jermaine), Jessica Yoest (Evan), Jacob Beatty, and Dolly Johns (James); great-grandchildren Paige Beatty, Presley Beatty, James Johns, Brittney Johns, and Mitchell Johns, and two great-great-grandchildren,.

A celebration of life will be held; details to be announced.
