Sophia E. Pethtel

Sophia E. Pethtel, 71, passed away peacefully in the presence of her children on February 15, 2021. Sophia was the daughter of the late Charles J. and Eileen Shimek of Carnegie. Sister of the late Charles M. Shimek of Oakdale  Sister of  Betty (Chuck) McGinnis of Carnegie. Sophia was the Cherished wife of the late Edward W. Pethtel Sr. Her most treasured title however was Mother of 6 Children Erik (Holly) of Burgettstown, Cindy (Randy) of Irondale, Claude (Gwen) of Georgetown, Kim (Carl) of Weirton, Melissa (Bob) of Monongahela, William (Heather) of Mingo Junction, and a proud Grandmother of 18 grandchildren. Sophia was a Mom to so many, she would love without limit to those who needed it throughout her years! Her spirit was infectious, and the light and laughter she brought to those she encountered are unforgettable. Friends and Family are invited to a  tribute of her life on Saturday, February 20, 2021, at the Hanover Volunteer Fire Department, 9 Starck Dr, Burgettstown, PA 15021 from 1 pm to 5 pm.
