Theda Church Obituary
Theda A. Church, 84, formerly of Claysville, West Alexander, and Tridelphia, WV, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024, in her home surrounded by her immediate family.
She was born on August 17, 1940, at her home in Claysville, but lived most of her life in West Alexander. She was the daughter of the late Charles Burdette Mahan and Mildred Raymer Mahan Bedillion.
On September 30, 1958, she married Lonnie Lee Church.
She was a loving wife, mother of six, grandmother, and friend.
Theda was an administrative assistant for the outpatient surgery department at Wheeling Hospital for 20 years.
She is survived by her husband Lonnie, daughters Janet Trager of Orange City, FL, Jeanne Stephenson (Mike) of Claysville, PA, Jackie Jones of Tridelphia, WV, and Cris Hartzell, of Wheeling, WV, brothers Gary Mahan (Syvilla) of Navarre, FL, Lee Bedillion (Shirley) of East Finley, PA, and Ernie Bedillion (Sandy) of East Finley, PA, sisters Rose Omps of Cleveland, OH, Kay Dillie (Bill) of West Finley, PA, Mary Jane Boyle (Don), of Claysville, PA, and Ruth Dorsey of East Finely, PA, 15 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son Lonnie L. Church, Jr., a daughter Laurie Lee Malson, a grandson D. Joey Parsons, brother Charles Mahan, a sister Patricia Fordyce, son-in-law Allan Calkins, and brother-in-laws Voyne Omps, Vance Dorsey, and Cliff Fordyce.
Friends and family will be received from 10 am to 2 pm time of service officiated by Pastor Bruce Graff at the West Alexander First Christian Church 124 Main Street, West Alexander, PA 15376 on Saturday, January 4, 2025.
