Wilford "Rocky" McDonough, 88, of Claysville, PA passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023, in his home.
He was born March 13, 1934 in Charleroi, PA, a son of the late Wilford and Olive McDonough.
One of his greatest achievements was to obtain his GED on June 2, 1983, the same year both his sons graduated from McGuffey High School.
He worked as a well tender in the oil fields around Taylorstown and Claysville.
He was a U.S. Navy and Pennsylvania Army National Guard Veteran. He served in the Korean War as a gunner’s mate, He also served aboard the USS Harlan R. Dickson (DD708), in 1957.
On July 12, 1963, he married Judith A. Cummins, who proceeded him in death.
Rocky is survived by two sons, Michael (Rebecca)
of Claysville and William of West Virginia, seven grandchildren, Jonathan (Nicole), Joshua (Tiffany), Heather, Shane (Chastity), Jacob, Logan, and William, and twelve great-grandchildren Mason, Cadence, Autumn, Cameron, Natalee, Nichole, Kyle, Avery, Hailynn, Willow, Luke, and Sofia.
Deceased in addition to his wife, is an infant son, David.
