William W. Richey

William W. Richey, 89, of Claysville, PA, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026, at Southmont Senior Care.

He was born on September 14, 1936, at home. William was the son of the late William R. and Florence M. Richey. He was a proud graduate of West Alexander High School, Class of 1956.

William dedicated much of his working life to Donegal Township. He was a longtime member of the Claysville Volunteer Fire Department and enjoyed attending county fairs, especially participating in and watching horse pulling events.

On September 23, 1960, he married the love of his life, Barbara Richey, who preceded him in death. 

William will be remembered as someone who never met a stranger. His kindness and easy conversation made everyone feel welcome.

He is survived by his sons, Boyd, Bryan, and Barry; his grandchildren, Jennifer and Steven; and his brothers, Jim, Donald, Wayne, Wadey, and Paul.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 219  Main Street, Claysville, PA 15323. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Gardens.
